How it Started

With a passion for health and nutrition developing in her teenage years, Jill knew early on that she wanted to be a Registered Dietitian.

She has also always enjoyed being around people, having been employed in the service industry for many of her early working years prior to becoming an RD. And since being a Registered Dietitian combines client engagement with health and nutrition, it was the perfect fit!

Now, after years of working with clients in an outpatient setting, Jill appreciates the importance of an individualized approach. She has found that through listening, reciprocal communication, and the strength of compassion that the biggest advancements can be made.

Jill’s Career

Jill has been practicing as a Registered Dietitian for over 20 years, spending much of her clinical time in the Ottawa region. Initially a hospital inpatient dietitian within the disciplines of internal medicine, geriatrics, and neurosurgery, Jill shifted to outpatient settings that included diabetes, family health teams, hemodialysis, and mental health.

Jill looks forward to meeting every one of her clients and learning from them. With each client bringing their own individuality, experiences, and goals, she relishes working with them towards empowerment.

Influential Moment

Simply seeing clients improve their health and wellness, food literacy, and then empowering themselves is what drives Jill’s passion. Even further, witnessing clients supporting each other along their wellness journeys inspires her and keeps her on the path of helping others.

Why Nutritional Rehabilitation?

When Jill first heard about Cailee and her team, she was instantly inspired and excited. Then, after meeting Cailee and learning more about the Nutritional Rehabilitation team and the wonderful work that both the dietitians and clients were doing as one, Jill was eager to join the team. Ultimately, it was the perfect environment to apply her skills.

On Jill’s off days…

Outside of the work environment, Jill spends much of her time with her husband and three children. She is an avid fan and supporter of her children with their athletics and their sports teams, and loves hiking, camping and just being outdoors with her family. Jill also enjoys meditation, baking, and has recently discovered that she has a green thumb!
